A list of wide toe box shoes with attitude
For those wanting something a little different while still leaving room for the piggies

This was a fun list to put together. I feel like my inner punk has been awakened during the process of assembling this. Maybe yours will be too, if it isn’t already.
There are many shoes here that aren’t included on my other lists because I’ve previously focused on getting the basics out there. If you’ve been struggling to find unique healthy shoes that match your personal style, I hope this will help!
I’m no fashion expert. My understanding of the ins and outs of certain styles are fuzzy at best. Unlike other lists where I sorted the shoes according to the type of sole they have, here I’ve categorized them by what style vibe they give me. Obviously that’s highly subjective, especially since there can be a lot of overlap between different styles.
One of the most common requests I see is for boots and shoes with a similar aesthetic to Doc Martens but with more toe room. You’ll find the ones I think are closest in the punk category.
You’ll notice that the toe boxes on many of these shoes are not “foot-shaped.” I’m a firm believer that shoes can have a variety of toe shapes and still provide enough wiggle room for the toes. If you’ve read my previous articles on the subject, you’ll see many real-life examples below showing this concept.
To make the list a little easier to navigate I’ve designated the sole type of each shoe thusly:
(B) = barefoot; flat, thin soles
(ZD) = zero drop; flat soles with cushion
(LH) = low heel
(H) = high heel

Incredible compilation. Thank you. As a fashion-forward woman, I remain hesitant about the idea of transitioning to barefoot shoes. You however have shown here how wide this world is :) In my opinion, if you take the time to create such a comp, there is no shame in sharing affiliate links. You're essentially doing us a favor anyway! Get your coin. Regardless, thank you and have a good day.
Love this list! Awesome, thank you
